SUMAC provided sustainability consulting services for the Eco 28 multifamily building, with the goal of accompanying the implementation of strategies aimed at improving the building's environmental performance and achieving LEED Gold certification.
The building incorporates exterior finishes that help minimize the urban heat island effect, as well as efficient fixtures and plumbing fixtures, achieving 54% water savings. Additionally, 100% of the green areas are xerophytic with drip irrigation, and a wastewater treatment plant is incorporated to supply irrigation and toilet flushing. The project also includes spaces for waste segregation, a construction waste management plan, mechanical ventilation designed under the ASHRAE 62.1-2010 standard, and natural ventilation in 100% of the apartments, promoting comfort and adequate indoor environmental quality.
