EDGE Zero Carbon certification represents the highest level of sustainability in the EDGE certification system, recognizing buildings that operate with zero net carbon emissions. At SUMAC we accompany organizations in achieving this ambitious goal, which positions them at the forefront of sustainability in the real estate sector.
EDGE Zero Carbon is the most advanced level of EDGE certification, developed by IFC (International Finance Corporation). To achieve it, buildings must:
• Generate 100% of their energy from renewable sources (on-site or through certificates).
• Achieve at least 40% savings in embodied carbon in construction materials.
• Meet basic EDGE energy and water efficiency requirements.
At SUMAC we have accompanied pioneering projects in EDGE Zero Carbon certification, including the BCP LAB in Peru, one of the first Zero Carbon bank branches in Latin America. Our EDGE Expert and EDGE Auditor team guides the entire process from design through certification. Contact SUMAC and achieve EDGE Zero Carbon certification!
