With more than 20 years of experience and commitment to sustainability and well-being, SUMAC has become an Authorized Entity to implement AIS (Accessibility Indicator System) certification. Currently, it is the only international certification standard for the degree of accessibility of spaces, products, and services. AIS has a methodology that allows applying accessibility criteria comprehensively and with an international vision, homogenizing grading criteria and harmonizing regulations at the international level.
Thanks to this, SUMAC can advise its clients on the AIS1/2018 Standard. This involves analyzing the environmental situation following the methodology, tools, and criteria of the Accessibility Indicator System, as well as recommending the grade emission, between 1 and 5 Stars, based on the level of accessibility achieved. The ARS Foundation, owner and manager of AIS, will ultimately certify the space.
This agreement will have, not only the training, tools and methodologies of AIS. It will also benefit from the experience gained after certificates issued in different sectors such as socio-sanitary, offices, and more.
The AIS Degree of Accessibility Indicator System represents a path toward continuous improvement and a firm commitment to accessibility. The certification offers various benefits for spaces that implement it, such as:
The Accessibility Indicator System is a guarantee of regulatory compliance and codes of best practices at the international level.
The implementation of AIS increases the value of properties and generates savings in future adaptations and/or assessments in the residential sphere.
It contributes to creating safer environments for users and workers, promoting risk prevention.
Opting for a certification like AIS improves the company's image, demonstrates its social commitment to the world, and reduces user complaints.
Helps create a safer, more comfortable, more diverse, more usable world. More accessible for everyone.
It is a non-profit entity whose purpose is the dissemination and promotion of accessibility. For this reason, it has created the Accessibility Indicator System (AIS), which assesses built or digital environments, products, and services. AIS evaluates the degree of accessibility of the elements that constitute the set of physical, functional, and virtual structures. Furthermore, it objectively and reliably recognizes and accredits up to five levels of excellence in accessibility.
