Description

SUMAC provided sustainability and energy efficiency services. PUCP is the first building on a university campus in Peru with the LEED Gold Level certification.The building has a natural ventilation system in classrooms, toilets, rest areas and in hallways, avoiding the use of air conditioning. This building achieved 50% savings in water consumption for irrigation of green areas and 41% savings in drinking water consumption. Likewise, 50% of construction waste has been recycled. All the adhesives, sealants and paints implemented are low in volatile organic compounds. 100% of the wood implemented is FSC certified and more than 10% of the construction materials have recycled content. Additionally, 35% of the total materials come from the region. SUMAC is the advisor for obtaining the construction credits of the LEED certification of the project.
