Description

State Farm Center, formerly known as Assembly Hall, is a large dome-shaped indoor arena that hosts games for the University of Illinois men’s and women’s basketball teams and also doubles as a performance and event center. State Farm Center opened on March 2, 1963 and is the third largest Illinois arena with a capacity of 16,618.

The building underwent a $170 million renovation following the conclusion of the 2013-14 basketball season including a renovated seating bowl; the addition of four levels of premium seating; improved restrooms and concessions; remodeled locker rooms, video room and team lounge; Hall of Fame space; air conditioning and many other amenities.

SUMAC aided Quercus Consulting in managing the LEED Gold Certification of the project.
